I just love the old weathered barns sprinkled around the country.  These barns were photoed by a fellow New Yorker who just happened to be at the coffee shop across from the ArtVisions Gallery and began a conversation with a fellow artist.  I so appreciate it when someone is so generous with their beautiful photos, a big thank you to Eric and Linda.

The Lineup

10"x20"

Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

Wow, life has really got in my way.  We have/are moving, that is a lot more work than I had imagined; and it's not over, we are still not moved into our final place yet, just a temporary place.  Plus, I ended up breaking my first bone.  Luckily that has been a fast healer, but my timing was not the best.  Oh well life will be back to whatever normal is fairly soon.

So this lineup of chicks/roosters caught my eye as a fun painting.  Back to painting some animals to get back into the swing of painting.

"Happy Hour at O'Kelly's"

"Happy Hour at O'Kelly's"

12"x24" Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

This painting was inspired by a visit to Montano's Restaurant.  The  array behind the bar just called out to me to be painted.  Well, that's not quite true 😅 actually my artist friend that was with me told me I needed to paint this😬 This was by far the most challenging piece I have ever attempted.  It was a big learning experience though.  But for a while I think I'll take a break from still life artwork!

Spring Has Sprung

 12"x9"
Oil on Canvas

While flowers are not my chosen image to paint, these tulips just caught my eye with the way the light was shining on them.  And here in Virginia, spring has certainly not sprung.  It is a balmy 20 degrees as I post this; however, next week we are promised more spring like temperatures.
