Aging Gracefully

                                                                               11"x14"

                                                                        Oil on Canvas

This beautiful old barn is just timeless.  It was a retired barn 50 years ago when I first moved into the house across the street.  Other than  missing the top to the silo and a small part of the metal roof, it doesn't look any different.  This is the barn that was lovingly called "Grandma Andrews Barn" by my children.

Shadows

                                                                                  7"x5"

                                                                            Oil on Board

This painting is a result of a challenge from the artists at Art Visions Gallery to paint a picture of the interior of one of the rooms in our home.  This is a corner of my office with the morning sunlight coming in.

Old Country Grocery

                                                                                12"x12"

                                                               Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

                                                                              SOLD

This was a fun painting of a local landmark near where I live.  I had put off taking a photo to paint from for many years and then one day it was jacked up to be moved.  I was sure I'd never see it again, but a few days later discovered it was only being moved further from the road to make way for a round about.  That made me take action before it disappeared.

My Deere

                                                                             16"x20"

                                                               Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

This painting is so typical of the area of Upstate N.Y where I grew up. Because of that and my love of old barns, I couldn't resist painting it.  It was a fun subject to paint.

Her Majesty

10"x8"
Oil on Canvas

Since I am a realistic painter, this swan was totally out of my comfort zone.   While this was a fun piece to create; realistic ones are much more enjoyable for me to to do.

Bottle Treasures

12"x12"
Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

This is my answer to a challenge to do a painting of glass by the art group that I belong to.  Needless to say it was a very big challenge for me since still life is not a favorite subject of mine and then add the glass Yikes!

These are treasures found when my childhood home was cleaned out and they were just too unique for me to be rid of.  The bottle with the face just really fascinated me, the other a local dairy and the canning jar is memories of all the canning my Mom did of produce from our garden.

I really enjoyed painting these juvenile trumpeter swans, they are awesome birds; the largest water fowl in North America.

Jackson

12"x12"
Oil on Canvas

During this time of social distancing I have had plenty of time and it took every bit of it to finish this painting.  This is my grandson and while it was a joy to get his likeness on the canvas, it will be so much more joy when I can again pick him up and hug him.

Spring Morning

12"x16"
Oil on Canvas
Spring is always such a pretty time of year with the bright greens, and flowering trees and plants.  It was always a very welcome time of year in the Northeast.

Green Apples

12"x9"
Oil on Canvas

This was a painting challenge that was given to the artists at ArtVisions Gallery and Studio.  Since I do not do still life paintings, it was a real challenge for me; but I will admit I did enjoy doing it.

Morning Chores

16"x12"
Oil on Canvas

So this was another challenge for myself!  I much prefer painting snow; but do like the colors of autumn.
