I hadn't painted a bird in some time and chose this raven while going thru some photos. I've always loved how the feathers of a raven glow so many beautiful colors when the light hits them.
This is the last of my cow series; well for a while anyway. Black animals are always fun to paint with the light hitting their fur there are always so many different colors reflected.
I just love painting barns in winter. I guess it has something to do with my childhood. These are typical barns seen in the Northeastern U.S. and the snow just cleans up the landscape and adds a peacefulness to them.

This little girl attended the Art on the Green at Lexington, VA this past spring; in fact I was honored to have her grandmother purchase some art from me. Always ready with my camera to capture the perfect picture I could not resist this sweet little girl with the cute bonnet. I knew immediately this was a moment that I wanted to put on a canvas.
I was honored to be asked to paint a portrait of Ollie. He is such a sweet, lovable dog; what a joy to paint him especially after meeting and getting to know him.
This is pretty much country living, USA. I grew up in an area of NYS much like this and now the area where I am living in rural Virginia is very much like this.

I was honored to paint a portrait of Abby as a remembrance for her family. I really enjoyed painting this gorgeous dog. I hope the painting brings her family happy memories.
The warm glow of the sun on a cold winter day, after a new snow always captivates me. It's always so quiet first thing in the morning before the plows and everyone starts to dig out of the snow.
